Electro Coagulation - uses the process passing an electrical current between submerged metal blades. This has the effect of flooding the water with electrons and releasing charged ions from the metal blades which act in a similar manner to chemical coagulants. No process chemicals are required and the process has low operating costs in terms of electricity and metal blade consumption.
EC can be thought of as an in-situ or on-site coagulant generation process.
